Preschoolers love to create. Their minds are full of imagination, so when you put paper, googly eyes, pom poms, pipe cleaners, construction paper, and glue in front of them, their hearts sing. Crafts are not only fun for preschoolers, but they also offer amazing benefits, such as helping with hand/eye coordination and encouraging self-expression. It’s always fun as teachers and parents to see the beautiful creations preschoolers craft.

5 BEST EASTER CRAFTS FOR PRESCHOOLERS
Paper Plate Easter Bunny or Baby Chick
The universal preschool material that almost every household has is the paper plate. It’s a versatile craft material that is perfect for preschoolers. You can use a paper plate to craft a bunny or a chick. All you need is two paper plates, some googly eyes, pom poms, pipe cleaners, some markers, and felt. For the Easter Bunny, simply turn the plate over. Put googly eyes spaced where you want them, use the cotton ball for the nose, and pipe cleaners for the whiskers. Next, take your second paper plate and cut out your ears. Staple or glue these to your other paper plate and decorate with felt. The process is the same for a chick except without the ears.
Easter Bunny Card
Preschoolers love to make crafts that they can give away to others, so an Easter bunny card fits the bill. All you need is some white cardstock, small white pom poms (or another color if you want a bunny with color), pipe cleaners, googly eyes, glue, and paint. First you make the card portion. You cut out the cardstock in the shape of a bunny that can fold over. Adults may have to help with this part. You’ll paint the ears your chosen color, and let dry. Next, you glue on the pom poms all around, filling in gaps as needed. Glue on your googly eyes, a different color pom pom for the nose, and cut the pipe cleaners for whiskers. Let dry, and you’ve made a fantastic gift!
Easter Egg Ornaments
One of the best symbols of Easter is the Easter egg, and one of the best crafts is one you can keep for years to come. Ornaments fit this bill, and making Easter egg ornaments is a snap. You can make these out of salt dough (flour, salt, and water), or use thick cardstock instead. You will cut out ornaments in the shape of Easter eggs. Then, the preschoolers can decorate them however they want. Acrylic paint for the salt dough, or regular markers and crayons for paper eggs. Next, you can add rows of glitter, pom poms, pipe cleaners, and more. Simply cut a hole at the top, and you’ve got a new cherished Christmas ornament from your preschooler!
Another universal preschool craft material is cardboard. Most of us always have spare cardboard boxes these days thanks to online deliveries. All you need is cardboard, craft feathers, felt, construction paper, string, and googly eyes. To make the chick’s body, you can cut out two circles still attached for its head and body or cut out two circles and then glue them together. You will attach the googly eyes, and use the craft feathers, string, and construction paper to decorate your chick. Cut out a felt beak for your chick, and you’re finished!
Egg Carton Easter Baskets
Since you are coloring Easter eggs, you probably have extra egg cartons lying around, so here’s your chance to put them to good use and entertain your preschooler. You’ll need egg cartons, paint or markers, plastic eggs, and pipe cleaners. You’ll divide the egg cartons into four sections each. Then your preschooler will paint, color, use glitter, pom poms, or whatever other material they want to decorate the bottoms of the egg carton. Then you’ll twist two pipe cleaners together to make the handle. Use a sharp pencil to poke a hole on each side of the egg carton, and attach the pipe cleaners. Fill your plastic eggs with candy, and you’re ready to hunt for Easter eggs!
